Ratitatt Rat Terriers was founded by Valerie Luchsinger as a hobbyist beginning in 2003 with our first Rat Terrier, a female puppy named Kali (GRCH King Pen's Kalifornia Ratitatt BIMBS). Valerie chose this breed due to enjoying a family Rat Terrier as a child - in addition to the intelligence, health and durability, low maintenance of the breed (minimal grooming - a "wash and go" breed with just nail trimming). We've been so pleased with Kali and her accomplishments that we later purchased our foundation sire, Buzzy (GRCH King Pen RB Buzzabout Ratitatt BIS RBIS BIMBS RBIMBS CGC). Both these dogs live in our home and have proven themselves in the conformation ring, with honors of being on the UKC Top Ten list for 4 years in a row (Kali was #8 and #9 in 2005 and 2004, Buzzy is ranked #1 in 2006 and #3 in 2007)!

Ratitatt does not have a kennel operation and has been in existence since 2003. We strive to continue our reputation for promoting healthy, well-rounded, natural performance dogs that are competitive at a national level in the conformation ring, agility/ obedience/ rally trials, flyball, and weight pull.

Our dogs and their offspring have made great, loving pets as well as having the honors of being UKC Top Ten dogs, multiple Best in Show winners, multiple agility titles including AKC MACHs, Obedience "High in Trial" wins, as well as "Most Weight Pulled Per Pound" weight pull wins! Our dogs and their offspring are proven to be athletic, intelligent, willing to please, great family house dogs!
