*** What are Rat Terriers Like? ***
Rat Terriers really are "like a big dog in a small dog body"! They
seem to forget they are a small dog - except when they try to lounge
with their family members on the chair, couch or under the blankets on
the bed! Rat Terriers will alert bark to unexpected sounds at the doors
or windows, yet they aren't typically "yappy". Rat Terriers are a
durable breed that can be handled by young children without fear of
injuring the dog. Naturally, we always recommend supervising young
children around pets to ensure proper treatment.

The "Sugar Buzz" babies are here! "Kali" and "Buzzy" produced a "Purple Ribbon" litter on January
17th, 2007. There are 7 puppies - 2 males and 5 females. At just 1 year old,
3 offspring are UKC Grand Champions, and 2 offspring are UKC Champions! "Purple Ribbon" (designated as 'PR') means at least 6
recorded generations of Rat Terriers.

In the left photo, from front left to upper right, are 4 Rat Terriers Woody, Briar, Buzzy and Kali during bait
practice... or waiting for kids to "accidentally" drop food at the
table! All of these dogs are UKC Grand Champions, with both Kali and
Buzzy being on the Top Ten list during their show careers.
In the right photo, from front to back is Buzzy, Kali, Briar, and Woody.
They are checking out the neighbor's dog!

"Kali" whelped 6 "Purple Ribbon" puppies January 15, 2006 (2 males, 4 females
- 6 registered generations)! "Buzzy" is the sire to this very flashy
litter.
The litter is dual-registered with UKC and AKC-FSS (Foundation Stock
Service).
At 16 months of age, 2 offspring have won Best in
Multi-breed Shows, 4 offspring have become UKC Grand
Champions, and 1 of the offspring is a UKC Champion! The 6th one could
easily have become a Grand Champion as well but is enjoying her life in a
loving pet home.
